The True Meaning Of Destiny

The word has connotations of the inevitable, the pre-ordained, everything that is stuck in finality. An immovable, unchangeable journey through our lives. But Destiny is far from that. It is simply our part in this world, our contribution, our gifts to the whole. It is what we have within us that comes out and provides a unique something to others.

Destiny runs concurrently through our entire life. It is as much a part of who we are and what we do as our sense of humor, our personality, our feelings, our heart. We are ALWAYS doing our Destiny, no matter what, no ifs ands or buts. We do it as consciously or unconsciously as we breath. It is our purpose... our universal reason for being here.

Astrology can help us understand what we do for our destiny role but keep in mind that astrology is only telling us about US. Even without planets and stars, eclipses and celestial weather reports we are already privy to the information we need. Use whatever tools help to confirm and validate but always remember that they are, after all, only tools. They're there for us to create the glorious masterpiece of US, but WE are always - and undeniably - the artist using the brushes and never the other way around.

So, let's say that we discover through astrology, or reflection, or any other means that what we do is give 'Beauty' to the world. Astrology may show our Destiny planet is Venus or personal reflection may key us in to the way we always need to make things 'look right' or to help others feel good about their appearances. We find that it is something we have done as long as we can remember but perhaps it has only ever been thought of as a 'hobby' or 'just SOMETHING we do'. But now, through whatever method we used, we realize that there is a common thread that has run throughout our life. A 'thing' that we do which in small ways and sometimes large ways gives 'something' to the world.

There is an amazing equality among destinies. None is any brighter nor better than any other. And since our personal destiny is something that comes naturally through us, there isn't anything to measure up against or to judge ourself with (- if we hear ourself saying 'that isn't enough' that's ego talking, not soul). This is our contribution... it is perfect... period.

Now that we have this connection with the gift we give to the world, it's time to have fun with it. It's time to make it work to empower our life and to bring us a sense of purpose, inner strength and serenity. An oak tree always being an oak tree and destiny always being destiny we can't get a refund or change our part, but we can CHOOSE how we bring it into the world. We can CHOOSE how we allow it to inspire and fulfill us.

That's where free will and choice come into play. There are no limits to how we can walk our talk and grow our souls destiny. It can be molded and shaped to fit anything our heart desires.

Going back to the example of us 'Bringing Beauty' into the world as our gift. We could become an artist, a diva, a decorator, a mystic that fills our thoughts with visions of eternal beauty, a hairdresser, an actress, a model, a sculptor, a mother, a father, a wife, a husband and on and on and on. We could bring beauty into the world through our talents, our words, our actions, our thoughts, our dreams, our interactions, our career, our hobby, our avocation, our beliefs. The options are infinite... the choices completely ours. But if we also take the time to tune in to what we LOVE to do, to those things that make us feel passionate and helpful, that encourage us to spread our wings and celebrate life... and then we combine those qualities with our destiny, we WILL reach a kind of success and inner fulfillment that can come no other way.

Let's play with a few examples:

Our destiny is to bring spirituality into the world... we are passionate about helping others and making a difference: We could turn ourself into a healer, a psychic, a missionary, a motivator.

Our destiny is to bring spirituality into the world... we are passionate about creating things: We could turn ourself into an artist with a vision of faith, a decorator that creates enchanting rooms and settings, a mother / father who fills their children with the ability to believe in the impossible and to learn to use their imaginations to build their worlds.

Our destiny is thoughts and the ability to communicate... we are passionate about research: We could turn ourself into a reporter who uncovers truths, a novelist who sends us on a voyage through our imaginations, a scientist who discovers a new cure .. a new life form .. a new horizon.

Our destiny is thoughts and the ability to communicate... we are passionate about people and their problems: We could turn ourself into a liberator, a freedom fighter, a writer who focuses on social issues, a teacher who helps others make their lives work.

The sky... and the universe... are our limits.

When we tune in to that ‘thing' we do that is uniquely ours - and mix it up with those areas we are passionate about - and make them work in our life ... success is guaranteed.
