Some Tips For Your Journey

One Relationship:

There is only one relationship you will ever have in life – your relationship with your own experience. The way you react to everything that happens to you determines exactly how you react to yourself and to any partner you are with.

If your natural reaction to negative life situations is to be uptight or critical, for example, then you will automatically be uptight or critical with yourself and any partner whenever negative situations arise. If you don’t accept life, you’ll never accept yourself or any partner.

Don’t expect some perfect person to come into your life and have a perfect relationship with you if your own conditioning is going to get in the way. That would be asking the impossible of them, no matter how many boxes they tick.

Look at yourself and learn how to recognize your unconscious patterns. Identify your habitual behavior, then you will start to be more at ease with life. And when you are at ease with life, you will automatically be at ease with yourself and any partner you meet.

Recognize how you are with life, accept how you are, and love and forgive yourself for being that way. Your patterns are just old learned responses, they are not personal. Say yes to life, then you automatically say yes to yourself and yes to all your relationships.

The key to a successful relationship lies in you. You have all the power.

Ten Keys To Dating:
  1. When going on a date, go looking for the lessons and let anything else be a bonus.
  2. Don't mistake common interests for compatibility. What you have experienced individually in your lives may make for good conversation but it is only how you feel together in this moment that counts.
  3. As hard as this may be to accept, you have little control over your reactions and you never have had. So if you instinctively feel moved to explore someone further, then flow with it and don't let your mind interfere.
  4. Try to be patient and understanding. We all have off days and if you've caught someone at the wrong time they may not make the best impression. Don't be too hasty with your decision making.
  5. Don't ask anyone for advice. This is your path and only you can walk it. Listen to your inner voice for guidance.
  6. If you find yourself being critical of someone, you will find that it is really yourself you are criticizing. Try to  recognize what it is about yourself that you don’t like or haven’t accepted.
  7. Treat each opportunity as a fresh beginning. Don't let past experience ruin a new possibility.
  8. Be true to yourself. Learn the lessons but don't change to accommodate anyone.
  9. If you're unsure about someone, ask your heart what to do. It will talk to you if you're ready to listen.
  10. Love yourself, love yourself, love yourself!  The love you are looking for is inside you, not someone else. When you uncover it, the feeling that you send out into the universe will bring you the partner you seek.

Lakota Prayer :
(This is a beautiful prayer about learning to trust ourselves so that we can love without fear.  We believe it is in the public domain but if we cause offense by printing it please let us know and we will remove it).

Wakan Tanka, Great Mystery,
teach me how to trust,
my heart,
my mind,
my intuition,
my inner knowing,
the senses of my body,
the blessings of my spirit.

Teach me to trust these things
so that I may enter my Sacred Space
and love beyond my fear,
and thus Walk in Balance
with the passing of each glorious Sun.
