When Martyn started using dating sites to find a partner, he noticed a sad undercurrent of unconscious frustration, fear and cynicism in other users, plus a complete lack of practical guidance being offered by the sites themselves. They all seemed to be heavily commercially driven, putting the needs of the business before the needs of the customer. There was no empathy, no support and no love – ironic given that they were dating sites.

In 2007, armed with the support of teachers and friends, he decided to build his own site.
